
Cardboard Text
1. Open and image that is 2 pixels wide by 10 pixels high, grayscale, 72
pixels per inch.
Magnify the image as large as you can.
2. hit your D key to set default colors. Select the gradient tool set for
a reflected gradient of foreground to background color. Draw the gradient
from middle of the rectangle to the bottom.
3. Click Edit => Define pattern. Name it cardboard.
4. Open an image that is 600 wide by 400 high, RGB, 72 PPI
5. Type in the word Cardboard at the following settings:
- 100 Pt
- black
- Ariel Black

- Centered
6. Insert a new layer by clicking Layer=>New=>Layer
7. Control Click on the text layer to select the text, and making sure
that the New layer, layer 1 is selected on the layer panel. Click Edit fill.
Set fill to the following:
- use pattern
- Select your custom pattern you created above. It should be the last
one inthe list.
- Blending normal
- Opacity 100 %

NOT CHECK preserve opacity.
8. (optional)While you are still highlighted, click edit=> Stroke. Set to
- width = 2 pixels
- Color= black
- Location = Outside
- Blending = normal
- opacity = 100%
9. Slcik Select=> Deselect
10. Click Image=> Adjust =>Hue/Saturation
- Colorize
- hue =27
- saturation =37
- lightness =+30
11.
Double click the layer to bring up layer styles.
Check Drop shadow
- blending: multply
- Opacity = 63
- angle = 125
- distance = 15 pixels
- Spread = 10
- Size = 20
Check
Gradient overlay
- blending mode = multiply
- opaciry = 50
- Gradient is the copper reversed
- Linear
- angle = 90
- scale = 130%
