Making Texture Tiles for use as patterns and backgrounds

1. Open a new image Save the file as texture.psd. If you already
have one, use the one you have to add layers to.
- Call it Texture
- 200 wide
- 200 high
- 72 pixels per inch
- RGB
- White background
2. Insert a new layer. Call it CROSSHATCH.

3. Color it Tan using the paint bucket and hex #FFCCFF for foreground.
Double click the foreground color. Uncheck web safe colors and add the
hex value FFCCFF to the box labeled #.


4. Click Filter=>Noise=>Add Noise
Click ok.

Click Filter=>Brushstrokes=>Crosshatch

Stroke length = 20

Sharness = 3

Strength = 1
6. Making Seamless tiles. We need to make this texture tile seamlessly as described
in Seamless tiles tutorial.

Use the offset by clicking Filter=>other=>offset.

Set at 100 horizontal 100 vertical. wrap around.

Then follow the tutorial, using the clone tool on the areas
you need to merge, and a soft brush of 45 pixels.
7. Save your PSD for additional textures. Save your file in Gif or jpg
also for the web.

Adjust your colors using hue/saturations to get variations of this
crosshatch.
Save again.
