Creating Custom Frames

You will use one image to complete this project. Download the following picture

1. Open a New File by clicking File/ New

  • 200x300
  • Resolution 72
  • Mode RGB
  • transparent

Click OK

2. Select all by hitting Control A

3. Select => Modify => Border

  • enter 32 pixels

4. On you tools, click on paint bucket

  • Mode normal
  • Opacity 100%
  • Set foreground color to HEX 99FFCC
  • Background color white

Fill your frame 3 to 4 times

5. Double click your layer To bring up Blending Options.

Click on Bevel&Emboss option. Type these settings

  • Style (Inner Bevel)
  • Technique ( Smooth)
  • Direction (Up)
  • Depth (860)
  • Size (3)
  • Soften (0)
  • Shading angle 30
  • Use global light(Checkmark)
  • Altitude (30)
  • Gloss Contour ( Ring Double )
  • Checkmark in Anti-Aliased
  • Highlight mode ( Screen)
  • Opacity 75% Shadow Mode Multiply opacity 75%

Click on Contour

  • Elements ( Gaussian )
  • Anti-Aliased (Checkmark)
  • Range 97%

Click ok

6.  Select Paint Bucket

  • In the option fill choose pattern
  • In the pattern section choose Metal landscape
  • Mode = Normal
  • Opacity = 50%

Fill your frame once

7. Click Select => Deselect.  Now your frame is done! Time to add your picture!

8. Go to layer => new => Background from layer

9. File => Open to open your fairy picture

10. Click on Move tool.  Click on the fairy image. Holding your shift key down drag the fairy over to your frame canvas. The shift key insures it will be centered.
