Creating a Custom Texture

1.
Open this image in Photoshop.
2. Click filter=>other=> Offset. Set the following
- horizontal = 250
- vertical = 175
- Wrap Around
3. Select your clone stamp tool with with following options
- 45 soft brush
- opacity 100%
- flow = 100%

4. Using the clone tool

Hold
your alt key down and Click in the middle of the upper left quadrant at
point 1 in the diagram on the right.
- Move your cursor over the horizontal line at point 2 and click. Start
painting from there left and right and up and down for a short distance.
- Hold your alt key down and Click in the middle of the upper left
quadrant at point 1 in the diagram
- Move your cursor over the horizontal line at point 3 and click. Start
painting from there up and down and then left and right for a short
distance.
- Hold your alt key down and Click in the middle of the lower right
quadrant at point 4 in the diagram on the right.
- Move your cursor over the horizontal line at point 5 and click. Start
painting from there left and right and up and down for a short distance.
- Hold your alt key down and Click in the middle of the lower right
quadrant at point 4 in the diagram on the right.
- Move your cursor over the horizontal line at point 6 and click. Start
painting from there up and down and then left and right for a short
distance.

Click file => save. Save this file as pebbles.psd in your Adobe=> Photoshop
7=> presets=> textures.
6. To use this texture you will use the filter by doing the following:
7. Click Filter=> texture=> Texturizer. Click on Texture type: load
texture. Search your hard drive
for
your adobe folder, photoshop 7+>presets=> textures. Select the pebbles.psd
file inside this folder. Play with the settings for scaling, relief, and
light direction to get the texture of your choice.
- scaling = 50%
- Relief = 10
- Light direction = top right


8. To make this into a seamless tile graphic for backgrounds on the web,
you will want to resize the image first since it is very large. Click Image
=> image size.
- width =140
- height = 100
- constrain proportions checked.
9. Brighten up the image or darken it if you want. Click File=>save for
the web. Set the image to jpg, 30%
