Diamond Grid Pattern

1. Open a new image that is 50 pixels wide by 75 pixels high, transparent 72 ppi, rgb

2. Click View=> New guide. Set the guide to vertical 25 pixels. Click View=> New guide. Set the secont guide to Horizontal 37 pixels.

 

3. Use the zoom tool to zoom in to 500% and enlarge your work area bigger then the canvas. Select your Polygonal Lasso tool, set to New Selection, Feather =0,  anti alias = checked. Click at each point where the guide meets the edge of the canvas to make a diamond shaped selection.

4. Click Edit=> Stroke. Set the stroke to 2 pixel,  center,  black, normal

5. Click select => ALL

6. Click Edit=> Define pattern. Call the pattern diamond50.

Click image=> image size. resize this image smaller in proportion and define the new diamond pattern. Do this over and over to get a set of diamond patterns of progressively smaller size.

 7. Click Edit=> preset manager. Set the manager to patterns. Use your left mouse button with the shift key held down to select all your diamond patterns. Click save set. Save the set into your preset/pattern folder.

8. To use the pattern, select an area of your canvas and click edit=>fill. Select your pattern
