Modes with Night Time Images
1. Open the moonscape. Duplicate the background. On the layers palette,
Set the background copy to Screen mode by clicking the drop down arrow and
selecting screen from the list.
2. Duplicate the background copy so that the background copy2 is also in
screen mode. Notice how with each layer on top, the light in your canvas is
increasing and the details of the trees around is improving.
3. Click back on your background layer. Open your mountain image. Use
your move tool to drag a copy of your mountain onto your canvas.
4. Click edit=> transform => scale. Set the height to 126% and the width
to 200% and apply the transformation. Use your move tool to position
the mountains at the bottom of your canvas and so that it covers the width
of your canvas.
5. Select your magic wand set to a tolerance of 50 to select the sky.
Click Select inverse. Click the apply layer mask button on the bottom of the
layers panel. Set the mountain layer to color burn.
6. Open your castle image. Use the move tool to drag that image over to
your canvas. Use the magnetic lasso to select the castle, village and land
from the sky. Apply a layer mask. Right click on the layer mask and select
apply layer mask.
7. Click edit => transform=> scale. Set the height and width to 250%
height and 250% width. click edit=>transform=> flip horizontal. Apply
transformations and use your move tool to position this in the left bottom
corner.
8. Set the castle layer to color burn mode. Duplicate this layer and set
the new castle layer (on top of original castle layer) to pin light and 25%
opacity.
