Lost Your Marbles ?

1. Create a canvas that is 400 wide by 400 high, 72 ppi, RGB transparent.


2. Insert a layer. Set your default colors by pressing your D key. Hit your X Key to reverse colors. St foreground color to Green, Hex # 339933. Click Filter=>Render=>Clouds.

3. Click Filter=>Render=>Lens Flare. Set the lens flare to the following:

  • 100% brightness
  • 50-300 mm

4. Click Filter=Distort=>Polar coordinates. Set the polar coordinates to Polar to Rectangular.

5. Click Edit=>Transform=>Flip Vertical.

6. Click Filter=Distort=>Polar coordinates. Set the polar coordinates to Rectangular to Polar.

7. Select your elliptical marquee set to fixed size of 400 wide by 400 high and select your globe.

  • Click Select=> Inverse. Hit your backspace key.
  • Click Select Deselect.

8. Click image=> adjust=> brightness/contrast.

  • brightness = +25 or untill the image is a nice brightness
  • Contrast  = +25 or until there is sfficient contrast to make it appear like it gleams.

 

9. Use your move tool with bounding box option checked to resize your image. hold your shift key down while you do this to get exact proportions. Adjust the size to 25% in height and width. Move the image to the middle of the screen.

 

10. Duplicate this layer 4 times. Move each sphere so you have a group in the same plane. Name the layers as follows:
  • green
  • blue
  • red
  • yellow
  • orange

11. Turn all the layers off for the spheres.

12. For each of your colored layers except the green, Click on the layer. Click Image=>adjust=> Hue/Saturation. Set each color layer as shown below.

13.  Click on your background layer (layer 0). Fill the background with 50% gray by clicking Edit=> Fill and selecting 50% grey. Insert a new layer and clic on that layer.

14. Use your Elliptical Marquee tool to a fixed size of 800 wide by 150 high to select an ellipse that is much wider then your screen and positioned about halfway down.

Click Edit Stroke. Set your stroke to 10 pixels center, brown (Hex #CC9933).

Click Edit Stroke again and change the color to Hex #663300 and the size to 5 px, on center.

15. Control Click the layer by holding down the control key and clicking on this layer. Click Filter> Blur=> Gaussian Blur. Set the blur to 2.

16. Click Filter=>texture=>texturizer.

  • texture = canvas
  • scaling = 100%
  • relief = 4
  • light directions = top

Deselect all.

Set the chalk layer to 30% opacity.

17. Arrange your marbles using the move tool on each color layer so that the marbles sit within the "chalk".

 



18. Right click  your bottom color layer and duplicate it. Call it shadow.

Click Image=> adjust=> desaturate.

Use your move tool with bounding boxes to scale the height to 33%. and set the layer opacity to 50%. Move this shadow to the bottom off to the left of one marble.

19. Duplicate the shadow for each color marble and move them to the bottom right of each color .

 

20. Select your image so that all the contents of your picture are wher eyou want in your final picture. Click Image=> Crop.
