Open new
canvas, 300 x 300 pixels, RGB, 72dpi, white background. You can use
any symbol you wish for this of you may download the symbol used here.

Create a new
layer and using the elliptical marquee draw a circle around the image. |
|
Fill the circle
with a copper gradient. Drag
symbol layer on
top of circle layer. |

In a new layer,
select the Text Tool, Arial MT Rounded Bold was used for this example,
size
20. Click
on the T ..... icon on the top Menu which brings you here.

Create a new
layer and using the elliptical marquee, make a circle (hold down shift key
to constrain to perfect circle. Go to
Edit--->Stroke
and use a 2 pixel black
stroke to create
a ring.

Press Ctrl +
Click on the thumbnail of the first circle layer to load the ring as a
selection. Press the Alt Key and click on the ring and drag a copy.
We want to make 5 rings in total. Once you have the five rings as
shown here, turn off all eyes in the other layers except the ring layer,
and merge visible. The turn the eyes back on.

Position
everything and type in the word Olympic (Arial MT Rounded Bold Size 24 was
used here).
Turn off all
eyes except the 2002 Text layer and the symbol layer. You will need
to rasterize your text layer. The merge these layers. Run a
Gaussian Blur of 1.1 on this merged layer. Turn back on all the
eyes. |

Starting with
the merged symbol and 2002 text merged layer, double click to bring up
layer styles.
Bevel and
Emboss: Inner Bevel, Chisel Soft. Depth 1000. Direction
down. Size 1px. Soften 0. Angle 120. Altitude30.
Change gloss as shown below.
Check Color
Overlay (FAA662 was the color used here). Blend normal, opacity 100%.

This is how it
looks now. You want to copy this effect to all layers (except the
background). A quick way of doing this is to drag the Effects tab
under the layer it is applied to and drag it under
the other
layers.

On the 'gradient'/circle layer, double click to bring up layer styles
again. These will
be modified as
follows. |

To get a nice sheen/sparkle,
apply the satin effect as follows.

Try a different
font, and play with the curving of the text for a better fit/display.
