Monkey
Business Animation
in Image Ready
1. Open a New canvas that is
- width 210
- Height - 185
- Resolution = 72
- RGB
- White

2. Click the type tool. Select arial bold, 36 pt, black. Type in the word
Monkey, hit the enter key and Business.
3. Insert a new layer. Control Click the text layer. Click onto the new
layer 1, and click Edit Fill. Set the fill to 50% grey, normal, 100%
opacity. Delect all by clicking select=> deselect.

Click Filter=> Noise => Add Noise.
- 30%
- Uniform
- Monochromatic
5. Click Filter=> Blur=>Motion Blur set to 4 pixels.
6. Control click the Text layer and turn the eye off on the text layer.
Highlight Layer1. Click Select Inverse. Hit your backspace key. Deselect all
by clicking select => deselect.
7. Click Image=> Adjust=> Hue Saturation.
- Check Colorize
- Hue= 59
- saturation = 33
- lightness = +5

Bring up layer styles by double clicking the layer in Photoshop 6 or Right
clicking and selecting blending options in Photoshop 7.
Check Inner Glow. Set the following.
- mode= screen
- opacity = 80
- noise = 0
- solid color
- techique = softer
- choke = 0
- size = 5
- contour= normal
Check
Bevel and Emboss.
- Style = inner bevel
- Technique = smooth
- Depth = 100 %
- Direction = Up
- Size = 5
- Soften = 0
- Angle =120
- altitude=300
- contour = normal.
Check
Stroke.
- Size = 2
- position = outside
- blending = normal
- opacity = 97%
- color =606103
9. Insert a layer. Link it to the layer1 by clicking the link on layer 1
while layer 2 is highlighted. click Layer=>Merge Linked. This will apply the
layer styles to your layer.

Using your rectangular marquee tool, Highlight just the word Monkey on your
merged layer. Click Edit=> Cut. Click Edit -=> paste. This will put it on
its own layer.
11. Use your move tool on the top too layers so as to move the word
monkey into the upper left corner, almost touching the edges and the word
business is slightly under and behind the word business. Use the bounding
boxes
option to resize the word business by grabbing the center bottom of the word
and dragging it up so that the height is 75% of what it was (check the
options). Use the bounding boxes on the Monkey layer to Drag the word taller
from the center bottom to about 130%.
12. Bring up layer styles on the layer containing the word business. Set
the following:
Check
Drop shadow
- mode= multiply
- Set the opacity to 100%
- angle = 120
- distance = 1 px
- Spread = 0
- size = 3
- contour normal
Check
Overlay
- blend mode = luminosity
- ppacity = 43
- Gradient = black-white
- style= linear
- angle = 90
- scale = 72%

Right click on the layer containing the word business and select copy layer
styles. Right click on your top layer with the word Monkey and select paste
layer styles. Open your layer styles/blending options. Change the following
on the drop shadow settings.
- opacity = 50
- distance = 9
- size = 13 px.

Open your monkey image. Click IMAGE=> Mode RGB
15. Use your move tool to drag the monkey onto your working canvas. Name
this layer frame 1. Position this monkey so its one hand is over the tail of
the Y in monkey.

Bring up layer styles/blending options on your monkey layer. Set a drop
shadow with the following settings:
- opacity = 42
- distance = 12
- size = 24
17. Duplicate this image and name frame 2. Use the move tool to rotate the
image about 2.5 degrees clockwise as shown on the options bar as you rotate.
Use the move tool to position it so the hanging hand is exactly over the
hanging hand of the parent layer, frame1.
18. Duplicate frame 2 and name it frame 3. Use the move tool to rotate
the image about 2.5 degrees clockwise as shown on the options bar as you
rotate. Use the move tool to position it so the hanging hand is exactly over
the hanging hand of the parent layer, frame1.
19. Duplicate Frame 2 and name it Frame 4.
20. Duplicate Frame 1 and name it frame 5.
21. Duplicate frame 5 and name it frame 6. Use the move tool to rotate
the image about 2.5 degrees counterclockwise as shown on the options bar as
you rotate. Use the move tool to position it so the hanging hand is exactly
over the hanging hand of the parent layer, frame1.
22. Duplicate Frame 6 and name it frame 7. Use the move tool to rotate
the image about 2.5 degrees counterclockwise as shown on the options bar as
you rotate. Use the move tool to position it so the hanging hand is exactly
over the hanging hand of the parent layer, frame1.
23. Dupolicate frame 6 and name it frame 8.
24. Turn off all the layers frame 2-8, leaving frame1, the modified text
layers(not the original text layer) and the white background on. Click the
button on the bottom of hte layers panel that says jump to image ready.
25. Open the animation panel in image ready. Set the frame 1 on the
animation panel to time of 0.1 second by clicking the carrot next to the
time and selecting the 0.1 seconds. Then click add a frame(2).

26. On animation panel frame2, Turn off the layer on the layers panel
called frame1 and turn on the layer called frame 2. Set the time of this to
0.2 seconds. Add an animation frame(3).
27. On animation panel frame 3, Turn off the layer on the layers panel
called frame2 and turn on the layer called frame3. Set the time of this to
0.5 seconds. Add an animation frame(4).
28. On animation panel frame 4, Turn off the layer on the layers panel
called frame3 and turn on the layer called frame4. Set the time of this to
0.2 seconds. Add an animation frame(5).
29. On animation panel frame5, Turn off the layer on the layers panel
called frame4 and turn on the layer called frame5. Set the time of this to
0.1 seconds. Add an animation frame(6).
30. On animation panel frame6, Turn off the layer on the layers panel
called frame5 and turn on the layer called frame6. Set the time of this to
0.2 seconds. Add an animation frame(7).
30. On animation panel frame7, Turn off the layer on the layers panel
called frame6 and turn on the layer called frame7. Set the time of this to
0.5 seconds. Add an animation frame(8).
30. On animation panel frame8, Turn off the layer on the layers panel
called frame7 and turn on the layer called frame8. Set the time of this to
0.2 seconds.
31. Set you optimize settings to gif 128 colors. Click file=>save
optimized as and save your file.
