Making and Shading the Nose
1. Open a new canvas 400X400 RGB white 144 ppi.
2. Insert a new layer. Using the center color on the color palette on the
right, Fill the Layer 1 with the flesh tone. Color palette is provided for
convenience. all lines you sketch will be blurred and smeared later so be
brave in your drawing!

Using the darkest color on the color palette, (left middle), sketch in the
nostrils with a hard paint brush size 9 just left and up from the 150 pixel
X 300 pixel and to the right and up of the 200 pixel by 300 pixel mark.
Sketch the left and right lower curves using a hard paint brush size 3.

Select the upper left hand color from the color palette provided. Using a 19
hard brush draw down the center of the nose to the tip, just above the
nostrils. Widen it out another stroke.
Using a number 5 hard brush, draw semi circles around the nostrils and
down from the nostrils to the bottom of the drawing where the lips would be
in an a-frame like drawing.

Using a Number 13 soft brush with the Middle right color, outline the left
and right side of the nose. trace between the nostrils, around the insides
of the wings and from the nose tip down between the nostrils and the hollows
below the nose, between the lighter lines.

Select the middl3e color (same as background. Choose a 27 soft brush with
opacity of 45 %. Set to COLOR BURN and run up one side the nose and down the
other, shade in between the nostrils and above the nostrils.
Set the brush now to COLOR DODGE and highlight the tip of the nose using
the same brush.
6. Apply a Gaussian blur at about 10.0. This will nicely mix the
colors.
7. Using the smudge tool with a soft brush of 35, and and pressure at
75%, stroke the nose wings in the direction shown in # 1 below. Draw the
smudge tool up both sides of the nose as in #2 below. Change your pressure
to 20% and draw your smudge tool from the tip of nose down to the depressed
area under thenose.
Using the Smudge tool set at mode= darken, pressure at 75%. hard brush of
19, darken he nostrils with the strokes shown in #4. Then take a soft 35
pixel brush set at 30% pressure, normal modem and with the center top color
from the pallet, run it over the lines in #5 to smooth out the lines and
shade eye sockets, mouth area, etc.
