Pebble Text

Inspired by spasquini.interfree.it

1. Open an new image that is 700 wide by 150 high. RGB 72 Pixels per inch and white background.

2. Set your default colors by clicking the D key.

3. Select your type tool with the following settings and type in the word pebbles in all capitals.

  • Arial Black or another wide font.
  • regular
  • color= black
  • size = 120 pt
  • smooth

4. Control Click your text layer to select your text. Turn the eye off on your text.

5. Click on the channels palette and click save selection as new channel. Click on that channel.

6. Hit your X key to reverse your color palette. Click Filter=>Texture=>Stained Glass. Set the stained glass to the following.

  • cell size = 8
  • Border Thickness = 7
  • Light = 0

7. Select your magic wand. Set the magic want to

  • tolerance =35
  • antialias checked
  • contiguous UNCHECKED.

Click in one of the white blocks. This should select all the white areas. Click Select => Modify=>Smooth. Set the smooth to 5 pixels.

8. Hit your D key to set default colors. Click back on your Layer palette and insert a new layer. Fill this layer with black by clicking edit=>fill, set to forground colors at 100% opacity normal mode. Click Select=> inverse. Then hit your backspace key.

9. Click back on your channels palette and highlight your alpha1 channel.  Then hit your backspace key. Click Select=> Deselect.

10. Click Filter=>Blur=>Gausian Blur. Set the blur to 4.0. Click back on your layers pannel.

11. Click Filter=>render=>lighting effects. Set them to

  • light type= directiona.,
  • light checked on
  • intensity = 35, color block white
  • gloss = 32
  • material = -100
  • ambience = -40
  • Texture cannel = Alpha1
  • White is high is checked.
  • height = 60.

12. Click Images=> Adjust => Hue/Saturation

  • Check colorize
  • hue = 45
  • saturation = 90
  • lightness = +45


13. Click Filter=> Noise=>add Noise. Set noise for 20, uniform and Monchromatic.

 

 

 

14. Double click on the layer or right click on the layer to bring up layer styles. CHeck the box for drop shadow. Check the box for bevel and emboss.
