Razor Blade
1. Open a new image
- 600 wide
- 400 high
- 72 ppi
- RGB
- White background
2. Insert a new layer. select the rectangular marquee tool set at a fixed
size of 450 wide by 225 high. Hit your D key to set your default colors,
then follow it with the X key to reverse them. Select the gradient tool, set
to reflected gradient, white to black . Draw the gradient from the middle of
the canvas to the lower right hand corner. Do not deselect.


3. Click Filter=>Noise=> add Noise.

Click Filter => Blur=>Motion Blur.
5. Insert a new layer. using the elliptical marquee to draw an oval that
is 320 wide by 200 high centered on the image. Select white as the
foreground color and using the fill paint bucket tool, fill the oval. Set
this layer to Mode = Softlight.
Click Edit => stroke, set to 1 px, black.

Insert a new layer. Select black as your foreground color by clicking the D
key. Choose the type tool, set at the following:
- Font = Times New Roman
- Size = 200 pt
- Horizontal Spacing = -200
- Color = black
Type in 6 asterisks, ******(upper case number 8 key)
7. Right click on the text layer and select Rasterise layer.
8. Click Filter=> Blur=> Gaussian Blur set to 5.2.
9. Click Filter=> Distort => Polar coordinates. Select Polar to
rectangular.
10 Rotate your canvas by clicking Image=>rotate=>rotate 90 CW.
11. Click Filter=>Stylize =>wind. Use the default settings. Apply a wind
again.
12. Click Image=>adjust =>Auto Levels
13. Click Image => adjust => Invert.
14. Apply the Wind style 2 more times.
15. Click Image=>rotate canvas=> 90 CCW
16, Click Filter=>distort=> polar coordinates set from rectangular to
polar.
17. Select Mode = Multiply.
18. Click Image=>Adjust=>Hue/saturation
- hue = 209
- Saturation = 100
- Lightness = -43
19. Turn the eye off on the background layer and merge visible.
20.
Select the 10 ten pixels of the blade in the image with a rectangular
marquee. Click Image=> Adjust=> hue/saturation.
- hue = 202
- Saturation = 12
- Lightness= +45
Do he same for the bottom of the blade.

Select the middle 100 pixels of the blade with your rectangular marquee set
to a feather of 25 pixels.
Click Image=> Adjust=> hue/saturation.
- hue = 202
- Saturation = 25
- Lightness= 0

Select the eraser tool. brush with size = 45. Click on the picture of the
brush to bring up the options and set options to hardness of 100%. Using the
Eraser half on the center edge of the left side of the blade, click once. Do
the same to the right side so that you have half circle cut outs on the
image.

Use the Marquee tool set at a fixed size of 15 pixels high by 200 wide to
select the center pixels. Click Edit=> clear. Click Select=> Deselect.
24. Use the 45 pixel eraser set to hardness of 100 % to
erase circles at the ends and center of the center cleared area.
25. Duplicate your razor image layer 2 X so you have three
copies.
On the top copy (layer1copy2) Select the move tool with show bounding box
option checked. Rotate the blade 15 degrees. Use the move tool to raise it
up till it is nearly touching the top of the canvas.
On the original layer (layer 1), Click Edit => transform => Free
Transform.

Click Filter=> Blur => Gaussian Blur set for 10 pixel.
Use the move tool to set the base of this image at the base
of the layer1copy2.
On the middle image Layer (layer 1 copy), Click Edit=>Transform=>Flip
Vertical. Rotate the image -15 degrees.
Click Edit => transform=>scale and reduce the height to about 150 pixels.
Click edit transform skew. move the image spo that it buts
up to the one above it, skewing as needed to make it look like a reflection.
Set the opacity down to 20%
26. Set your foreground color to hex #C008EE and background
color to hex #04F5F8 . Double Click on your top layer. Apply the following
Properties as shown in the pictures below:
