Making Texture Tiles for use as patterns and backgrounds

SANDSTONE

1. Open a new image  Save the file as texture.psd. If you already have one, use the one you have to add layers to.

  1. Call it Texture
  2. 200 wide
  3. 200 high
  4. 72 pixels per inch
  5. RGB
  6. White background

2. Insert a new layer. Call it SANDSTONE

3. Color it Tan using the paint bucket and hex #F3E3A5  for foreground. Double click the foreground color. Uncheck web safe colors and add the hex value #F3E3A5  to the box labeled #.

4. Click Filter=>texture=>texturizer.

  • Select Texture Sandstone

  • Scaling  100

  • Relief  10

  • Light direction Top Left.

 

 

5. Click ok.

6. This texture is seamless already so no further treatment is necessary. .

7. Save your PSD for additional textures. Save your file in Gif or jpg also for the web.

8. Adjust your colors using hue/saturations. save again.
