Squares

1. Open your canvas of 300X300 rgb, 72ppi, white.

2. Select the rectangular marquee with options set to Fixed size, 10 wide, by 10 high.

3. Click in your canvas.

4. Insert a new layer.

5. Use the zoom tool to zoom into your selection at about 300-500%.

6. Click Edit Stroke. Set to 1 pixel, black, outside.

7. Click back on your marquee tool and use your arrow key to nudge the marquee one pixel to the tright and one pixel down.

8. Click Edit=> Define pattern. Call the pattern squares.

9. Click Select=> all, then backspace.

10. Click Edit= fill. Select pattern, select your squares, 100 % opacity.

11. Colorize and adjust opacity to what you want.
