Static's Sweet Clock Tutorial
- When doing this tutorial you should already be familiar with Photoshop
6 and 7. Also I recommend you name you layers as we go along.
- Style file
1. Create an image 1000 x 1000 at 150 RBG and add a new layer.
2. Now create a circle with your Elliptical Marquee that takes up your
hole canvas.
3.
Choose a color you want your clock to be and fill your circle.
4. Add a layer style to this. You may download the one I created and add
it to your styles folder, or just create your own style and save it.
5. Now click on select, modify, contract at 20 and delete. (Keep your
selection)
6. Add a new layer and fill this selection white and click on select,
modify, contract at 40 and delete. (Keeping selection)
7.
On this same layer fill with your choice of color and contract it 20 and
delete. (keeping selection)
8.
Make sure your rulers are showing and add 2 guides in the center.
9.
Now select your pencil tool and select black as your color and draw 2 lines
following your guides.
10.
Now copy this layer and rotate it so it looks like the image below.
11. Now link the layer underneath this one and hit Ctrl E.
12.
Repeat steps until you get something like this.
13. If you still have your selection you need to contract at 20 and
delete.
14. Create a new layer, select your Elliptical Marquee and created a
small circle in the center of the canvases. Fill white and click on your
style.
15.
Now hide your guides and create a new layer. select your pen tool by hitting
the P key and draw the minute hand. Draw this as simple as you wish, there
are also pre set arrows shapes you can use in Photoshop.
16. Now select the paths tab and select load path as a selection. Go back
to your layer and fill white and click add your style.
17. Copy this layer and resize into the hour hand.
18.
Creating a new layer, create your seconds hand by making a small circle in
the center of your canvases. Now select your Rectangular Marquee tool, hold
your shift key and add the hand to the cycle. Fill this red and add your
style.
19. Add your glass to cover you clock with a radial gradient and
adjusting opacity to 55%.
20. Ok now your on your own you can add your numbers or more detail as
you wish. With this
you may also animate in flash or image ready!
Enjoy,
