Making Stationary
- You will need to download
the
cornflower that is the 44th wildflower, or 7th before the plants photos, to do this project
1.
Open a new canvas that is
- 750 wide
- 450 high
- 72 ppi,
- RGB
- white
2. Open the image FlowerB.jpg. Use your move tool to drag the image from
flowerB.jpg to your new canvas.
3. Using the move tool, move the image so that the flower is in the upper
left hand corner, where the petals are just touching the top and left side
of the canvas.
4. Duplicate this layer. Turn off the eye on the original flower layer.
5. Using your rectangular marquee tool set with 0 feather, style = fixed
size, width of 1px by 100 pixel, Select a narrow rectangle so that the
top of the marquee is at the top of your canvas and the bottom of the
marquee has gone through the very tip of the yellow petal on the right side
of the flower.

6. Select your Move tool and check the option for Show Bounding Boxes.
Grab the middle right bounding box and drag it to the far right so that the
image is stretched to reach the right. Apply that transformation. Click
Select => Deselect.
7.
Hit the D key, followed by the X. Insert a layer Mask on this layer.
Using the Lasso tool, outline the bottom of the flower and stem, not
including them, out into the white area.
Use the Paint Bucket to fill the mask with black.
8. Use your rectangular marquee tool to select an area about 200 wide by
450 high on the furthest left of your canvas. While your mask is still your
active layer, click Filter=> Blur=> Gaussian Blur and set the Blur to 2.8.
