Making a Dark or Light
Vignette
1. Open Your image.
2. With the image open on just the
background layer Go to Layer>Duplicate Layer, to make a copy
of the image.
 3.
With the Elliptical Marquee tool draw an
oval selection around the area you
DON'T want to blur.
4. Go to Select>Feather, and choose a
high number (you can go up to
250 pixels but what you choose will depend on the size and
resolution
of your image)
5. Go to Select>Inverse.
6. Go to Layer>New Adjustment
Layer>Curves,
7. Click ok on the curves
window
8. Drag the middle of
the line down to make it darker, or up to make it lighter. You can
also combine these two techniques to make a dark or light blurry
vignette.
