Watermarking Images

Use this simple technique to apply a watermark to your images. This will prevent theft of your display images. Use the following image to try out the technique:

1. Open up your image. This image is already in RGB mode. If your image is not, you should click the image menu and select mode=> RGB. This will allow you to layer the image.

2. Select your text tool. Set the text tool to ariel black, size 400 pt (you must type in the 400 as this is not a preset value) any color.

3. Click in your canvas with your Type tool. Hold your ALT key down and type in the following keys on your keypad on the right of your keyboard 0169 and release your ALT key. Use your move tool to center this over your image.

4.  Right click on your text layer and select blending options. Set the advanced blending option fill opacity to 0%.
4. Check and highlight the Bevel and Emboss option. Set the options to the following:

  • emboss
  • smooth
  • depth=100%
  • direction up (or down if you want it to look depressed)
  • size = 6 or less if you want less conspicuous
  • soften =0

5. Save your image with its watermark.
