Creating a Wood Cookie

1. Open a New image by clicking file => New and set it to 400 pixel wide by 400 pixel high RGB, 72 ppi, white background.

2. Insert a new layer by clicking Layer=> New=> Layer.

3. Select your elliptical marquee tool and set to a fixed width of 350 pixels by 350 pixels. Click on your new layer and adjust the marquee so it is fairly centered..

4. Click Edit => Fill and select the 50% grey from the drop down menu. and fill in normal mode at 100%.

5. Click Select=>All. Click Edit=> cut. Hold your shift key down and click Edit Paste to center the circle.

6. Click Filter=> Noise=> Add Noise. Set the noise to 400%, uniform, monochromatic.

 

7. Click Filter=>distort=>Ripple

  • amount = 100%
  • Size = large


8. Click filter=>Blur=> Smart Blur

  • radius = 3.1
  • threshold = 72.4
  • quality = high
  • mode = overlay edge

9. Click image=>adjust=>invert..


10. Click image=> adjust=> hue/saturation

  • colorize
  • hue =14
  • saturation = 17
  • lightness = -20

11. Insert a new layer.

13. Click Edit => Fill and select the 50% grey from the drop down menu. and fill in normal mode at 100%.

14. Click Select=>All. Click Edit=> cut. Hold your shift key down and click Edit Paste to center the circle.

15. Click Filter=> Noise=> Add Noise. Set the noise to 400%, uniform, monochromatic.

16. Click Filter => blur=> radial blur

  • amount = 100
  • method = spin
  • quality = best


17. Click Image=>adjust=>levels. Input levels as follows:

  • 113
  • 1.00
  • 127



18. Click Image =>adjust=> Hue/saturation

  • check colorize
  • hue = 32
  • saturation = 100
  • lightness = -30

 

19. Control Click this layer to select it. Insert a new layer by clicking layer=>New=>layer. Click Edit=> fill and set to 50% grey.

20.  Click Filter=> Noise=> Add Noise. Set the noise to 400%, uniform, monochromatic.

21. Click Filter => blur=> radial blur

  • amount = 100
  • method = ZOOM
  • quality = best

22. Set this top layer to screen.
